LUV has had the privilege of sponsoring several organizations which work toward universal values through educational community projects. Ongoing programs:
During 2010 and continuing in 2011, LUV has been working closely with The Geller Center for Spiritual Development on a capital campaign to purchase their building and develop a community center for spiritual development. Please visit their website if you wish to get involved in this essential project. (Click their name above to be linked directly to the Geller website.)
In 2010, LUV had the opportunity to assist with the Pine Ridge Reservation Christmas Drive. What an honor it was to be able to offer some small service to this long suffering People, the original residents of our region. If anyone would like to know more about the Pine Ridge Eco-Dome Building Project or the Christmas Drive, please click this link, Tiyospaye Winyan Maca.
Since August of 2010, we have been forging a regional spiritual community with a group of devotees centered in the Denver area. Working together to yoke our common spiritual goals, we have initiated a series of programs centered around visiting Sadhus. In November of 2010, we held our first joint event in Westminster lead by Pr. Akhanda prana celebrating the Thanksgiving spirit. Again in February of 2011, we met at the home of a gracious devotee in Westminister and joined our voices in a participatory Puja for Sri Ramakrishna. What joy to keep spiritual company with such loving devotees.
LUV will work with the regional Vedanta devotees to bring in Pravrajikas and Swamis for classes and workshops. We will sponsor the annual community multi-faith celebrations in Fort Collins to broaden and strengthen the city’s 30 year old interfaith movement. We will strive on behalf of the Geller capital campaign both to support a safe haven for spiritual discovery for our community and to secure a long term meeting place for our programs. And, as the Geller campaign unfolds, we hope to work on developing a spiritually focused meeting hall and residential building on the Howes Street site.
